go on doing sth 和 go on to do sth 的区别

go on doing sth的意思是“继续做原来在做的事情”；
go on to do sth 指“停下原来做的事，改做另一件事”。
1.go on doing sth. 意为继续做同一件事，表示的是继续做原来的事情，中途可有停顿也可没有，多指延续性的动作，能和时间段连用。

He didn’t have a rest and went on working.
他没休息就继续工作了。
After a short rest, they went on walking.
休息了一会儿，他们继续往前走。

2.go on to do sth.（to do 是动词不定式）意为“继续做另一件事”，表示的是前一个动作完成之后，又接着去做另一件事情，常指短暂性动作。不可与时间段连用。

We had supper and went on to watch TV.
我们吃完饭接着看电视。
After she finished her homework, she went on to help her mother with the homework.
做完家庭作业后，她接着帮母亲做家务。
